The short version
- Canada child benefit: around the 20th of each month. Rest of 2026: October 20, November 20, December 11.
- Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (formerly the GST/HST credit): quarterly. 2026: July 3 and October 5. Next: early January and early April 2027.
- CPP and OAS: near the end of each month. Rest of 2026: October 28, November 26, December 22.
- Advance Canada workers benefit: January 12, July 10 and October 9, 2026. Ontario Trillium Benefit: around the 10th of each month.

Benefit Payment Dates 2026-2027
Government benefits arrive on a schedule that's published a year ahead and almost never changes, which makes them more reliable than most paycheques and all teenagers. Here are the 2026 dates for the federal benefits and the main provincial ones, with what each payment is for and where to look when it doesn't show up.

Provincial child benefits in B.C., Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and several others are paid together with the Canada child benefit, in the same deposit. Several provincial low-income credits are paid together with the Groceries and Essentials Benefit.

When a Payment Doesn't Arrive
- Wait five working days after the scheduled date. Banks are not always as punctual as the government.
- Check My Account for a message, a notice, or a request for documents.
- Check both returns were filed. No return from you or your spouse, no benefit.
- Check your direct deposit and address. Returned mail can pause payments.
- Then call the benefits line, or use the tax problem solver first to see if one of the usual causes fits.

When is the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit paid?
Quarterly. In 2026 it was paid July 3 and October 5, after the GST/HST credit payments of January 5 and April 2. The next payments are in early January and early April 2027.
When are CPP and OAS paid in 2026?

When is the advance Canada workers benefit paid?

What should I do if my benefit payment is late?
