Why We Charge for Some Things and Not Others
Answering a general question costs us almost nothing, so it's free and it stays free. Reading forty pages of your return twice, checking every slip and writing up the result takes real computing time and real care, so that part costs about what a decent lunch does. A tax professional charges by the hour for the same reading; we charge once, and you keep the report.
What we won't do: sell your information, show you ads for loans, or upsell you to a product you don't need. When something is beyond what software should handle, we say so and point you to a professional.
How healthy are your taxes?
Fifteen quick questions, a score out of 100, and the three things worth fixing first. Nothing to sign up for.
Got a letter or slip you do not understand?
Upload it to the Tax Document Analyzer. It reads the CRA letter, notice or slip and tells you what it means, what the deadline is, and what to do next.
Who Does the Work
Every paid product is done by our software: calculators for the numbers and dates, AI for reading documents and explaining. No accountant reviews your report. That keeps prices at a fraction of a professional's fee, and we are upfront about it. See sample reports and how we test before you buy.
Pricing Questions
Is CanadianTaxes.ai free?
The Ask AI, the calculators, the document analyzer, the Tax Health Score and every guide are free. Paid products (Return Check, Letter Check and the others) work on your own documents and cost a one-time fee each.
Are there subscriptions?
No. Every product is a one-time payment. The Tax Year Pass and the Rental Property File last 12 months and do not renew automatically.
What is your refund policy?
If a product does not fit your situation or does not work as described, tell us within 30 days of buying it and we refund you in full. Refund Finder also refunds your fee if it finds less than $100.
Do you charge GST/HST?
Yes, at the rate for your province, shown before you pay.
Prices in Canadian dollars before GST/HST. Checks and SmartFiles are information tools, not tax advice. CanadianTaxes.ai is not the Canada Revenue Agency.
