Ask a tax question

For Home Builders

Give your buyers a page that explains the HST rebates, first-home credits, closing costs and renting part of the home, with your company name on top.

Your buyers have tax questions you shouldn't have to answer: the rebates, the HST in the price, the first-time buyer credits, the basement apartment they're already planning. Give them a page that answers all of it, with your name on top.

The short version

  • Each builder partner gets a private code. Buyers who open the new-home page with your code see “Welcome, [your company] buyer” and a link back to you.
  • The page covers the GST/HST rebates and who signs what, the first-time buyer credits, the FHSA and Home Buyers' Plan, closing costs and the cost base, and renting part of the home.
  • Ontario HST rebate questions go to our specialist site, OntarioHSTRebates.ca.
  • Your sales team gets fewer “what about the rebate?” calls, and your closings get fewer surprises.
  • $149 a month for unlimited buyers, cancel any time. Tell us about your company below and we'll set up your code.

Why Builders Bother

Every builder knows the closing-week phone call: the buyer's lawyer says the rebate wasn't assigned, or the buyer didn't know the price included HST, or someone told them they'd get the first-time buyer rebate when they don't qualify. Nobody on your team is a tax preparer, and nobody should pretend to be one. But the buyer still calls you.

A clear, independent page fixes most of that before it starts. It's written for buyers, in plain English, with the CRA sources, and it's kept current every year when the rules change.

What Your Buyers Get

How It Works

  1. Tell us your company name and website below.
  2. We send your code and your link, which looks like canadiantaxes.ai/new-home-buyers/?b=yourcompany.
  3. Put the link in your buyer package, your closing email, or a QR code on the model home wall.
  4. That's it. We keep the content current. You can cancel any time.

Builder Partner Questions

Does the page give tax advice to my buyers?

No. It is general information with CRA sources, written in plain English. Buyers with unusual situations are pointed to a professional.

Does the page replace my rebate paperwork?

No. Your rebate assignment and closing documents stay exactly as they are. The page explains them so buyers understand what they are signing.

Can buyers’ information come back to us?

No. We do not pass buyers’ details to builders, and the free tools keep their answers in their own browser.

General information, not tax advice. CanadianTaxes.ai is not the Canada Revenue Agency.
