The short version

  • Manitoba income tax for 2026: 10.8% to $47,000, 12.75% to $100,000, and 17.4% above, on top of federal tax. The brackets are frozen, not indexed, since 2025.
  • The basic personal amount is $15,780, but it shrinks to zero between $200,000 and $400,000 of income, which nudges the top combined rate above 50% in that range.
  • Example, salary only: $50,000 pays about $7,340 in total income tax, $100,000 about $22,790, and $200,000 about $65,710.
  • Homeowners get up to $1,600 of school tax back through the Homeowners Affordability Tax Credit for 2026; renters get up to $625 on their return, more for low-income seniors.
  • Sales tax is 5% GST plus 7% RST. Manitoba has no probate fee, and land transfer tax runs from 0% to 2%.

Manitoba Taxes

Manitoba's income tax brackets are simple and, lately, sticky: the province froze them at $47,000 and $100,000 instead of raising them with inflation. That quietly raises tax a little each year as wages go up. It also cut the probate fee to zero and moved most of its homeowner help onto the property tax bill. The calculator above runs your income; below is what Manitoba adds, and what it gives back.
